Our Mission:
We’re raising awareness about hereditary ATTR amyloidosis, a rare genetic disease that affects 1 in 25 African Americans. This disease is silent and can cause heart failure, nerve damage, and other serious health problems. But with early detection and education, we can extend lives.
Our Game Plan:
Educate the community – Not through empty words (Talking Loud But Ain’t Saying Nothing) but through powerful positive discussions, talks (individuals story telling), social media, documentary, and events. Partner with churches, schools, and community centers – to reach people where they are. Encourage early testing – for anyone with a family history or symptoms.
“Extending Your Shelf Life – One Life at a Time.”
Why the A-Team?
This team isn’t based on athletic skills or intelligence. It’s based on genetics—a silent risk carried in the DNA. These team members are using their stories to shine a light on this disease and push for early testing and treatment.
